Lisa Morgan - Leadership and Executive Coach

Lisa offers 15+ years’ experience advising executives and mid-career professionals, most recently coaching Executive MBA’s at the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business.  Lisa is skilled at guiding clients to get clear on their leadership mission, vision, value proposition, and brand.  She is deeply committed to helping individuals overcome derailers to success and achieve their highest leadership potential.  Prior to her work at Michigan Ross, Lisa supported executives and professionals navigating leadership and career transitions at a consulting firm and a Fortune 50 company in southeast Michigan. 

Lisa brings a broad business background to every client interaction, garnered through an early history in business process reengineering and IT consulting in the automotive and consumer finance sectors.  She has led teams in line and staff roles, and served as a leadership program manager, 360 feedback coach and master trainer.

Lisa earned a Master of Science in Administration from Central Michigan University and a Bachelor of Business Administration from the University of Michigan’s Ross School of Business. 


Lisa is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC) through the International Coach Federation and holds a Certified Professional Coach (CPC) credential from the Institute for Professional Excellence in Coaching.  Additionally, she was trained as a Career Development Facilitator at Oakland University, and is an Energy Leadership Index Master Practitioner.

My meandering career path perfectly illustrates the power of mission, vision, and intention.  And … what happens when you lack these anchors.

I attended business school back in the 80’s.  The conventional wisdom back then was, “Get with a good company, develop an area of expertise, and move up the ladder.”  Denying my DNA in emotional intelligence and human potential, I accepted a position as a systems engineer with EDS (now HP) upon graduating.  After barely making it through a 10-week boot camp-style training marathon in Texas, I settled into a role debugging computer programs.

Thankfully, I had leaders at that time who believed in me.  When they saw me nodding off over my keyboard, rather than ushering me out the door, they realized I had strength in building relationships versus bits and bytes, and moved me into customer-facing and people care roles.

After I experienced my father survive a code-blue heart attack, I had that “aha” moment that life is short, and if I’m going to work, I’d better do work that energizes me versus depleting me.  Books such as Stephen Covey’s Seven Habits of Highly Effective People and The Path: Creating Your Mission for Work and for Life by Laurie Beth Jones, profoundly influenced me, along with the work of great visionaries in leadership development, organizational learning, and systems theory.

Through clarifying my mission, crafting a vision, and tapping the courage that flows from conviction, I orchestrated my own career transformation.  My journey led me from systems engineer and IT consultant to people care leader, program manager, master trainer, leadership coach, career consultant, and executive coach.  Along the way, I earned an MSA in Human Resources and Organization Development, as well as credentials in coaching and career development.

My mission is to inspire greatness by honoring uniqueness.  I achieve this by helping my clients identify their one-of-a-kind strengths blueprint and holding them accountable to realize their highest potential.
